Hyderabad: The Gopalpuram police came to the rescue of a pregnant woman and ensured that she reached hospital safe for a health checkup here on Tuesday.
The incident occurred around noon when the woman, Swathi (24), from Ambedkar Nagar, was waiting for transportation at Sangeeth Junction, to go to the Koti Maternity Hospital for a regular health check-up.

As she could not find any transportation in time due to the lockdown, patrol vehicle staff Dhanraj, home guard Siddaramulu and a police constable noticed her and enquired about her whereabouts.
After knowing that she was stuck without transport, they informed Inspector Saieshwar Goud, who instructed them to shift her immediately to hospital. Swathi thanked the police for their timely response. City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar appreciated the staff for their work and rewarded them.
