Hyderabad Pharma City: Training programme launched for youth

Hyderabad: The State government, as part of Hyderabad Pharma City (HPC) project, launched a training programme for youth in villages, especially those situated around the project, to facilitate their employment. The government, under its commitment to facilitate one job per family that contributed land for the HPC project, is training the youth free of cost. The programme is being executed by Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) in partnership with the Life Science Sector Skill Development.
The pilot programme for about 120 youngsters was launched by Industries department Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan on Monday. The 45-day training programme includes classroom sessions, practical sessions, on-the-job learning and assessments and other aspects. It will also include industry visits for trainees and guest lectures by eminent personalities.
Training modules cover a range of courses like production operator, lab technician, manufacturing assistant, packaging assistant, stores coordinator, maintenance supervisor, HVAC coordinator, fitter mechanical, quality chemist, quality assurance and quality control executives. Candidates will also be trained in lab and manufacturing equipment including water filtration assembly multi-head, Vortex mixer, centrifuge, and others. On successful completion of the programme, placement opportunities have also been planned for them.
HPC, a flagship initiative of the Telangana government, has been planned as a world class industrial city with focus on development and production of affordable and quality medicines.
