Hyderabad: The Kanchanbagh police have arrested six persons for allegedly conspiring to murder a 35-year-old man and attempting to kill another over a rental property dispute at Hafeez Baba Nagar. Two other suspects, including the alleged mastermind, are absconding.
The victim, Syed Omer alias Mashallah Omer, was stabbed to death, while his relative, Syed Bin Mehfooz (44), sustained serious injuries in the attack near SA Hair Cutting Saloon at Pathar Ka Makhan in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to S Sreenivas, DCP, Rajendranagar, the murder was allegedly planned by Abdul Khader Ahmed Batawil Almoodi, the owner of a rented house, who developed enmity with Omer after the latter intervened in a dispute over vacating the property.
The official said Abdul Khader allegedly approached Aman Qureshi through Khaled Bhaisa and promised him a handsome amount to eliminate Omer. Aman, who reportedly had a personal enmity with the victim, along with his associates, lured Omer to the spot on the pretext of settling the rental dispute.
“When Omer arrived, the suspects allegedly surrounded him and, as per the plan, first stabbed Mehfooz on his neck. Omer was subsequently stabbed on both sides of his neck and died,” said S Sreenivas, DCP, Rajendranagar. Mehfooz was shifted to hospital and is undergoing treatment.
The arrested persons include Aman Qureshi, Khaled Bhaisa, Jaffer Bin Hawail, Mohammed Shafiullah Qureshi, Mohammed Ali Abrar and Dasthagir Mohiuddin Ahmed alias Imran. Abdul Khader and Muzamil alias MLA are absconding.
The police recovered a knife, five mobile phones, including one belonging to the deceased, and four two-wheelers allegedly used in the offence. The accused were apprehended on November 4 while reportedly planning to flee to Kadapa.
