Hyderabad police catch 457 drunk drivers in weekend crackdown
Hyderabad and Cyberabad police conducted special weekend checks, catching 925 drunk drivers, mostly two-wheelers. Several recorded dangerously high BAC levels, with some exceeding 300 mg/100 ml. Authorities have booked cases, warning the public against drunk driving to ensure road safety
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police conducted a special drunken driving check on Friday and Saturday night, and caught 457 people.
Among those caught are two-wheeler drivers – 377, three-wheeler drivers – 27 and 53 four-wheeler drivers. Cases were booked against them. While four persons recorded a BAC level above 300 mg/100 ml, another 14 had a BAC level between 251- 300 mg/100 ml.
Meanwhile, the Cyberabad police during weekend drunk driving checking caught 468 persons. The details are two wheelers – 335, three wheelers – 25, four wheelers – 107 and heavy vehicles – 1. A total of 12 persons had BAC levels above 301 mg/100 ml to 550 mg/100 ml.
