Hyderabad: The city police conducted a massive checking operation of lodges and hotels in the city on Friday night.

VC Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad said the checking of lodges and hotels was conducted as part of “Operation Kavach”, aimed at foiling attempts of unsocial elements to commit criminal acts in the city.
”Around 5000 policemen participated in the operation conducted across all the police stations in the city. The credentials of the individuals staying in the lodges were verified and the records maintained by the management of the lodges was also checked,” said the City Police Commissioner, VC Sajjanar.


He said that the previous day, the police had conducted large-scale checking of vehicles in the city and found some persons while driving vehicles were using earphones connected to their mobile phones. “We will initiate action against such persons and book cases against them. A special drive will be launched to curb the practice,” said Sajjanar.
