Hyderabad Police launch ‘Operation Kavach’ to curb anti-social activities
Hyderabad police conducted a massive citywide checking and frisking drive under Operation Kavach on Friday night, deploying 5,000 personnel and 10 drones. Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said the exercise aims to curb anti-social activities and enhance citizen safety.
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad police as part of “Operation Kavach” conducted a large scale vehicle checking and frisking exercise in the city on Friday night.
As part of the operation 5000 policemen drawn from Task Force, City Armed Reserve and local police participated in the operation.
VC Sajjanar Hyderabad Police Commissioner said the operation is aimed at controlling the anti social activities and movement of unsocial elements in the city.
“It is the largest operation being done to instill and sense of safety and security among citizens. It is aimed to bring fear in unsocial elements,” said VC Sajnnar. The police deployed 10 drones to monitor the operation.
Hyderabad CP monitored the operation from the command control centre. He later physically visited Tolichowki and Charminar to oversee the operation.
