Hyderabad: Postgraduate medical student dies after allegedly jumping from apartment terrace in Nagaram

A 26-year-old postgraduate medical student died after allegedly jumping from the terrace of an apartment building in Nagaram, Hyderabad. The woman, who had returned from Bengaluru last week, succumbed to her injuries in hospital. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation.

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old medical postgraduate student died after allegedly jumping from the terrace of an apartment building in Nagaram on Saturday.

The woman identified as Dikshita (26), had completed her MBBS and was pursuing her postgraduate medical studies at Siddhartha Medical College in Bengaluru. She had returned to Hyderabad last week to stay with her parents at their residence in West Gandhi Nagar, Nagaram.


According to police, Dikshita went to the terrace of the apartment on Friday evening and allegedly jumped from the building. She sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where she succumbed while undergoing treatment.

Dikshita hailed from Mailaram village in Bommalaramaram mandal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, and her family had later settled in Hyderabad.

Based on a complaint made by her father, Anand, the Keesara police registered a case and have launched an investigation into the incident. The exact reason behind the suspected suicide is yet to be ascertained.
