Hyderabad: With heavy rains lashing several parts of the city, some water-bodies are brimming over.

According to the Cyberabad Traffic Police, the Appa Cheruvu was overflowing, which meant those traveling to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport would have to plan their journeys in advance and also take the Outer Ring Road to reach the airport.

“In view of Appa Cheruvu lake water overflow on the NH 44 near Gaganpahad, Shamshabad, traffic movement is slow towards Shamshabad. Commuters are advised to use ORR to reach RGIA, Shamshabad,” the Cyberabad Traffic Police tweeted.

On the other hand, the GHMC’S EVDM wing director has repeatedly asked people to stay indoors.

“Many areas of the city already experiencing heavy rainfall couple with gusty winds. Citizens are requested to stay indoors and take all precautionary measures. DRF teams on field,” (sic) the EVDM director tweeted, adding that people could dial 040-29555500 for DRF assistance.
