Hyderabad: If you could get an aerial view of the Gachibowli Stadium, on the morning of November 14, all you would see was a long line of shoes tied up in pairs and placed heel-to-toe on the running track.
Made by RealPage, a global provider of software and data analytics to the real estate industry, during the launch of their new initiative, ‘RealSoles from RealSouls’, this line set a new Guinness World Record of the longest chain of shoes.
A total of 60,000 shoes were used to make the line. During this event, RealPage also donated 30,107 pairs of shoes to the students of 100 government schools across Hyderabad. The launch was attended by Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy, Chairman, Sports Authority of Telangana.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao also applauded the initiative and said, “It gives me great satisfaction to see our corporates stepping up for the social cause and making a real impact.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dana Jones, CEO, RealPage, said, “The initiative reflects our core philosophy as responsible corporate citizens. It is a matter of pride for me to be a part of this noble cause.”
The event also recognised the RealPage RealHeroes Award winners. The programme highlighted the importance of giving back to communities and honoured organisations and individuals who are making a difference and building a better community and environment.
