Hyderabad: Due to spike in Covid-19 cases across the country, the appointments at the Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs)/ Passport Seva Laghu Kendra (PSLK) and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (PoPSKs) functioning under Regional Passport Office (RPO) of Hyderabad, have been reduced by 50 per cent tiIl January 31. Accordingly, the Public Enquiry Counter in the RPO of Hyderabad will function from 9:30 an to 12:30 pm instead of 9:30 am to 4 pm.
In a statement, the Regional Passport Officer Dasari Balaiah said only medical and genuine travel emergencies supported by proper documents, will be entertained against the suspended appointments due to Covid-19 at the Public Enquiry Counter at the RPO of Hyderabad near Prashant theatre in Secunderabad. Applicants have been advised not to purchase air tickets/freeze travel plans without valid passport and travel documents in hand. As passport issuance process is detailed, the officials said it take some additional time given the current situation.
