Hyderabad: United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations (U-FERWAS) on Sunday launched ‘I-vaccinate’ app to make sure the vaccination drive, held by Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) in their respective localities, conducted in a hassle-free manner.
The app, developed by Dhanush InfoTech, was launched by Industries and IT Department principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan. “There is a vaccination shortage and the supplies will increase in July. Bharat Biotech has agreed to supply 4 lakh doses to the State government this month,” Jayesh Ranjan said.
Directions were also given to the hospitals to set up vaccination centres in different parts of the city, he said adding a total of 500 gated communities have shown interest towards vaccination drive.
Members of U- FERWAS said that they want to reduce the load on hospitals. “In-house vaccination drives will reduce the load on hospitals and through the app we want all the RWAs to administer vaccines in their respective localities,” said Dr Rao VBJ Chelikani of U-FERWAS.
Another member of the federation, BT Srinivasan said the app would also have an option of delivering medical supplies at the doorstep. He said providing telemedicine and counselling sessions to the residents, sharing free meditation webinars were also some of the services being offered through the app.
