Hyderabad rowdy-sheeter held for killing casino guard, injuring another in Panaji
The accused, Abdul Altaf (25), a known rowdy-sheeter listed at the Mailardevpally police station under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, allegedly attacked security personnel with a sharp weapon in the early hours of Thursday at a land-based casino in a star hotel in Panaji. The assault led to the death of Dheeru Sharma (33) and left Satyam Gaonkar injured.
Hyderabad: A rowdy-sheeter from the city who is a regular at the casinos, was reportedly arrested by the local police for allegedly killing a security guard and injuring another after creating a ruckus at an onshore casino in Panaji on Thursday.
The suspect Abdul Altaf (25), who is listed as a rowdy sheeter at the Mailardevpally police station in Cyberabad Police Commissionerate had on Thursday early hours allegedly attacked the security personnel with a sharp object at a land-based casino operated at a star hotel in Panaji, resulting in the death of Dheeru Sharma (33), while injuring Satyam Gaonkar.
Abdul Altaf, who is a frequent visitor to casinos in Goa, was in an inebriated condition and allegedly creating public nuisance, when the security personnel attempted to intervene.
He reportedly grew violent and abused and assaulted them.
It is learnt that Abdul Altaf tried to flee Goa post the incident, but was caught when proceeding to the Dabolim airport to evade police and take a flight.
The Panaji police have booked a case and are investigating.
