Hyderabad: Rs 1 lakh defence liquor seized in Sainikpuri by Excise officials
Prohibition and Excise Department officials seized defence liquor worth Rs 1 lakh from a former military employee in Secunderabad. The accused allegedly sourced liquor from Madhya Pradesh at low prices and sold it illegally in Sainikpuri. A total of 58 bottles were recovered.

HYDERABAD: The Prohibition and Excise Department officials on Tuesday night seized defence liquor worth Rs 1 lakh in the city.
Acting on information, the sleuths caught a former military employee, S Chandrasekhar Goud, and seized 11 liquor bottles sourced from Madhya Pradesh by him and stocked at his residence. On enquiries, Chandrasekhar disclosed another location where 47 bottles of liquor, including 28 bottles of Teacher’s, 18 bottles of Seagram’s Scotch, and several bottles of Signature and wine varieties, were stocked. A total of 58 bottles of liquor were seized.
According to officials, Chandrasekhar had been procuring defence liquor at low prices from Madhya Pradesh and selling it illegally in the Sainikpuri area of Secunderabad for a considerable period.
