Hyderabad: The State government has sanctioned Rs 68.4 crore for strengthening of nala from Hussain Sagar to Musi River at Golnaka, said Mayor Bonthu Rammohan here on Wednesday.

While inspecting flood-hit areas in Golnaka a few days ago, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao assured the affected families that necessary measures would be taken to solve the problem by constructing a retaining wall up to one kilometre from Nallakunta Fever Hospital to Musi River.

As per the Minister’s directions, the Mayor visited Nallakunta locality with MLA Kaleru Venkatesh along with zonal commissioner B Srinivas Reddy and other officials. He interacted with the affected families in the area and added that the retaining wall covering 8 km from Hussain Sagar would be strengthened.
