Hyderabad: Seven persons were arrested by the Begumpet police for allegedly attacking a businessman at Rasoolpura early on Sunday.
The arrested persons are identified as Khaja Bahaduddin Hameedi, Mohammed Omar, Abdul Sami, Md Kareem, Mohammed Shoaib, Dasarwad Krishna and Syed Sameer.
According to the police, the victim Pradeep Kumar along with Hemanth Kumar, Shiva, Bharath Kumar, Arun and Naveen Kumar came to the house of their friend Raghavendra alias Sonu to Rasoolpura around 3.30 am.
The group was waiting for Raghavendra when Mohd Omer, Khaja and Krishna came to the place and questioned about their presence in the locality.
āA heated argument took place between them and after intervention of a few locals, the groups dispersed. A few minutes later, Omer confronted Pradeep near the Elahi Masjid in Rasoolpura where again an argument took place between them. Some friends of Omer came to the spot and all of them attacked Pradeep, resulting in stabbing wounds to the victim,ā said Additional CP, D S Chauhan.
On information the police reached the spot and shifted the injured person to hospital. A police picket is posted in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
