Hyderabad: Seven detained in connection with college hidden cams case
College management suspends hostel warden even as police collect fingerprint samples, which have been sent to a forensic lab
Hyderabad: The police intensified the investigation into allegations of girl students being secretly filmed in the washroom at an engineering college in Medchal. Seven individuals, including the hostel warden, have been detained by the police for questioning.
Police sources said nine mobile phones belonging to the suspects were also seized. The hostel warden has been suspended by the college management due to the controversy, and police have collected fingerprint samples, which have been sent to a forensic lab.
The investigators are relying on statements of the suspects and the forensic report to nail the culprit involved in the incident. Meanwhile, the college management also declared a three-day holiday and advised the students to return to their homes.
The incident came to light on Wednesday when a female student discovered a mobile phone hidden in a hostel bathroom. It is alleged that several private videos of female students were found on the phone.
