Hyderabad: The Enforcement Team (Hyderabad) of the Prohibition and Excise Department caught six persons for smuggling ganja and seized 16 kg of the contraband from them.
In the first case, the team caught three persons Nityananda Biswas and Anup Mandal, both natives of Odisha, and Chotulal Singh of Rajendranagar who were smuggling ganja on a two-wheeler at Narayanguda. Fourteen kg of ganja was seized from the three, who were handed over to Narayanguda police station for further action.
In the other case, the officials caught S Naresh, P Tejas and R Rishhikesh, all residents of Sanathnagar with two kg of ganja at Ameerpet. They were carrying the contraband on a scooter. They have told the police that they were purchasing ganja from S Nikhil, who is absconding.
