Hyderabad: Sixth grader dies after puri gets stuck in throat
A roti roll is said to have become lodged in his throat, leading to suffocation. His classmates quickly notified the teachers, who rushed to assist him. The boy was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he had already passed away before medical help could be administered.
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, Viren Jain, a class six student at a private school in Secunderabad, choked to death while eating lunch on Monday afternoon during lunch break. The child who brought puris in his lunch box chocked while eating three puris at once.
According to the Begumpet Inspector, Ch Ramaiah, the boy had brought puris in his lunch box and was eating three puris on one go, when he chocked. As a result, the boy was not able to breath and died.
The boy was struggling to breathe because of choking and on noticing that, the school staff rushed him to a local nursing home and later to a private hospital. The doctors at the hospital pronounced him dead on arrival.
The body has been shifted to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination. A case is being registered. The boy’s father Gowthan Jain, had informed the police that the school management had informed him that his child was having lunch when the incident took place.
