Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a software engineer was electrocuted allegedly when he went to pluck mangoes after going into the farmland at Peddashpur in Shamshabad on Thursday.

K Chetan Reddy (27) from Anaparthi in East Godavari district was working in a software company in the city. He got married six months ago and lives in the Tallagadda area.

On Thursday, Chetan took his wife to Bhaskara Engineering College in Moinabad to write a competitive examination. After the examination, his wife was going to her hometown in Ibrahimpatnam in Rangareddy district. On the way, the couple found mango farms at Peddashpur in Shamshabad.

The couple went inside the farm and plucked mangoes. While returning, Chetan accidentally came into contact with live electric wires and got electrocuted. The farm caretakers and locals rushed to his rescue, but he had died by then.

The police registered a case and an investigation is underway.
