Hyderabad: Bhagyanagar Titans scored a 31-29 win against Kakatiya Knights in the Yuva Telangana Kabaddi championship for men here on Monday.
For the winners, Ravi and Gourishanker were the best raider and defender, while for the losers, Seresh and Sharan were the best raider and defender, respectively.
In another match, Basara Vidyuts were locked in an exciting 37-all draw with Sushank and Anil being the best raider and defender for Basara, while Ganesh and T. Srinath shone for Yadadri.
Bhadradri Braves notched up a 50-37 win against Satavahana Sainikas with Hanmanthu and Lokesh playing well for the winners, while Mallikarjun and Vamshi put up a good show for the losers.

The results: Bhagyanagar Titans bt Kakatiya Knights 31-29.

Basara Vidyuts drew with Yadadri Yoddhas 37-37.

Bhadradi Braves bt Satavahana Sainikas 50-37.

Joel wins title

I Joel of Telangana, won the D. Sripadarao All India FIDE-rating (below ELO1600) open chess tournament with nine points from nine rounds here on Monday.

Sharjeel Hasan Shaik (Telangana) and L. Maneesh Reddy finished second and third, respectively, with eight points each by virtue of the tie-break rule.

The results: Final round: I. Joel bt Saarvin Sivam (TN); Prahlad Sen (Kar) lost to Sharjeel Hasan Shaik; Sudhesh Mayank (TN) lost to L. Maneesh Reddy; Shaik Mohammed Irfan bt Ujwal Mekala; P.M. Mithun (TN) bt Tavish Singh.

Sai Kumar wins in Toughen KR Steven boxing championship 

P Sai Kumar won the 47-50 kg weight category bout in the Toughen KR Steven boxing championship for elite men, organised by Ranga Reddy District Amateur Boxing Association, under the support of the Sports Authority of Telangana and the Telangana Boxing Federation.
The results: 47-50kg: 1. P. Sai Kumar, 2. Gowlikar Adesso, 3. Chokka Seemon & B. Krishna.

50-55kg: 1. MD. Bilal, 2. Kartik Kumar, 3. Sala on Selvakumar & Shaik Adnan.

55-60 kg: 1. Shaka Pawan Sain, 2. Prajwal Ghanate, 3. Ganta Banni & Md. Sarfaraz.
60-65 kg: 1. K. Jagadeeshwar, 2. A. Vamshi Krishna, 3. Ch. Manideep & V. Ganesh.

Rohit helps Hyderabad fight back

Hyderabad, which was bowled out for 225 in the first innings, fought back brilliantly to bundle out Haryana for 208 thanks to a fine spell by Rohit Rayudu (five for 63) on the second day of the semifinal of the All India Buchi Babu invitation cricket tournament in Chennai on Monday.

The scores: Semifinal: 1st day: Hyderabad 225 in 80 overs (Rahul Radhesh 31, Hima Teja 31, A Varun Goud 41, Amit Rana 3/52) & 49/1 in 16 overs vs Haryana 208 in 79.3 overs (Himashu Rana 75, Parth Vats 36, Rohit Rayudu 5/63).
