Hyderabad: The Ibrahimpatnam police on Tuesday arrested a man who allegedly killed his police constable sister, for marrying a person from another caste.
Kongara Paramesh (25), a resident of Raipole village of Ibrahimpatnam mandal in Ranga Reddy district on Monday morning slit the throat of his sister Nagamani leading to her death. The victim worked as a police constable in Hayathnagar police station of Rachakonda.
According to the police, Nagamani’s parents had passed away around ten years ago and she moved over to her paternal uncle at Raipole village. In 2014, relatives of Nagamani performed her marriage and gifted her one acre of land. The woman, however, due to some issues returned to her uncle’s house and started staying there. Eight years later, in 2022, she got a divorce from her husband.
The woman in the meantime befriended a man, who belonged to another caste and was resident of Raipole village. She then married him against the wishes of her brother and other relatives.
“She returned the one acre of land to her brother to avoid any confrontation or interference in her married life. However, Paramesh was angry over her marriage with a man who belonged to another caste as he felt local villagers would make mockery of him,” said Ibrahimpatnam Inspector, B Satyanarayana.
After the marriage, she left Raipole village and started living along with her husband at Vanasthalipuram and also demanded the one acre land be returned to her.
Meanwhile Paramesh, planned to kill his sister and lay in wait for an oppurtunity. On Sunday, he came to know that she had come to the village.
“With the help of a friend, Paramesh kept a tab on her movement. On Monday morning, while Nagamani was going for duty, he followed her. At a secluded spot, Paramesh dashed the scooty with his car and when she woman fell on the road, he slit her throat leading to her death,” said the Inspector.
