Hyderabad teen drowns in Shamshabad quarry while making Instagram reel
A 17-year-old student from Borabanda drowned in a water-filled quarry at Manasa Hills, Shamshabad, while allegedly filming Instagram reels with friends. Rescue teams recovered the body later in the day. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Hyderabad: An intermediate student drowned in a quarry pit that was filled with water while allegedly clicking photos and making Instagram reels at Manasa Hills, Shamshabad on Sunday.
The victim identified as Mirza Shoeib Baig (17), was a resident of Borabanda.
According to the police, on Sunday, Baig had gone to play cricket with his friends at a nearby playground. After playing, he and his friends visited the quarries to click pictures and make reels to post on his Instagram account.
During the photo shoot, Baig is believed to have slipped and fell into the quarry filled with water. His friends, who were present at the spot, tried to rescue him, but could not.
On receiving information, the RGI Airport police, fire department and DRF teams reached the spot and retrieved the body late in the evening and sent for autopsy.
