Hyderabad teenager Yashwwanth sets sixth international world record
Hyderabad's 14-year-old martial artist Balabhadrapatruni Yashwwanth has secured his sixth international world record by delivering 170 single-hand punch strikes in 30 seconds. The Pallavi Model School student has also earned multiple national and international honours and continues to excel in martial arts
Hyderabad: Fourteen-year-old martial arts exponent from the city, Balabhadrapatruni Yashwwanth, has officially secured his sixth international world record.
The Class 10 student from Pallavi Model School successfully executed an incredible 170 single-hand punch strikes in just 30 seconds, setting a new global teenage benchmark.
Training under Grandmaster Shaswat Kumar, who has been awarded the Pioneer of Modern Combat Karate by Empikai Martial Arts Association, Republic of Serbia, Yashwwanth’s latest feat translates into an astonishing striking velocity of 5.6 punches per second using only one hand, proving his elite, lightning-fast hand speed.
Dominating in fighting, kata and speed
Yashwwanth has repeatedly proven himself to be an exceptionally fast and versatile combat athlete. He has demonstrated complete mastery in both explosive full-contact fighting (Kumite) and technical forms (Kata) across all levels of open competition from 2023 to 2026: Open State Circuit: Captured 1 Gold in fighting, 1 Gold in kata, 1 Bronze in fighting and 1 Bronze in kata; Open National Circuit: Secured 1 Gold in fighting, 1 Gold in kata, 1 Silver in fighting, 2 Bronze in fighting and 2 Silver in kata; Open E-International Circuit: Earned 2 Gold medals in kata; Open International Circuit: Proved his combat supremacy by winning 1 Gold and 1 Silver in fighting, along with 1 Gold in kata; Hyderabad League 2026: Swept his division with 2 Gold medals each in Kumite and Kata; International 2026: Won a Gold medal in kata.

Notably, two of his core speed records have also been officially recognised as National Records by the Shreyanavi Charitable Foundation Wings.
His complete legacy of records includes: Maximum Single-Hand Punch Strikes in 30 Seconds (Teenager): 170 punches (July 2026); Maximum Half-Stretch Punches in 1 Minute: 404 punches, shattering the previous teenage record of 222 and adult record of 384 (6.73 punches per second); Maximum Full-Extension Punches in 30 Seconds (Boxing Gloves): 161 punches, recognised as a National Record by Shreyanavi Charitable Foundation Wings and Asian Book of World Records; Fastest Teenager to Perform Full-Extension Punches in 20 Seconds (Karate Gloves): 107 punches, recognised as a National Record by Shreyanavi Charitable Foundation Wings and Asian Book of World Records; Maximum Single-Hand Full-Extension Wall Punches in 30 Seconds (Karate Gloves): 108 punches; Most Alternating Martial Arts Kicks on a Pad in 1 Minute: 107 kicks (MABWR).
Demonstrating true martial arts discipline, Yashwwanth also recently gave back to the community by conducting a free Kihon (martial arts basics) seminar at an allied NGO run by his coach. He continues to solidify his status as one of India’s fastest and most accomplished young sports talents.
