Hyderabad: Three arrested for selling fake VIP cricket tickets in Uppal
Uppal police arrested three persons for allegedly using forged letters to obtain VIP cricket match tickets and selling them at high prices. Three others are absconding. Police seized five tickets and are continuing efforts to trace the remaining suspects.

Hyderabad: The Uppal police on Monday arrested three persons who had allegedly submitted forged letters to cricket associations and managed to obtain VIP complimentary tickets for matches, which were then sold at high prices to people. Three other suspects are absconding.
The arrested are G Ashok (25), K Dinesh (25) and S Venumadhav (26), while three others, Ashish, Senthil and Tansil, are absconding.
According to the police, the six suspects had prepared letterheads of judges of the High Court, the Governor’s office, Ministers and other bureaucrats, and submitted them to cricket associations to obtain complimentary passes.
“After obtaining complimentary tickets worth Rs 22,000, Ashok, Dinesh and Venumadhav were selling them to people who were ready to pay higher prices. On information, the trio were caught at Uppal stadium parking area and five tickets were seized from them. They were planning to sell the tickets at higher prices,” the police said.
Efforts are on to nab the remaining persons who are absconding.
