Hyderabad: Three held for assaulting bikers after accident in Bandlaguda

Bandlaguda police arrested three persons, including a 17-year-old juvenile, for assaulting two bikers after a road accident near Savera Hotel. The suspects thrashed the victims with a plastic cricket bat. Police tracked them using video and CCTV footage

Hyderabad: The Bandlaguda police on Tuesday apprehended three persons, including a 17-year-old juvenile, for allegedly assaulting two people following a minor road accident.

The arrested have been identified as M A Zaki (30), Mohd Abdul Safi (18) and a juvenile boy aged 17.

According to the police, on Sunday around 1 pm, victims Syed Abid and his friend Syed Yousuf were travelling on a motorcycle. When they reached a U-turn near Savera Hotel, a speeding car rammed into their bike.

“The three suspects got down from the car and thrashed Abid and Yousuf with their hands and a plastic cricket bat. The duo sustained injuries and were shifted to hospital for treatment,” said A Sudhakar, ACP Chandrayangutta.

Based on a complaint, the police registered a case and started investigation. The trio were identified with the help of videos and CCTV footage and later apprehended.
