Hyderabad Traffic Police book 445 persons in two-day drunk driving drive

Hyderabad Traffic Police booked 445 persons in two days for traffic violations during enforcement drives. Similar action in Malkajgiri and Cyberabad saw hundreds apprehended, with several cases of high blood alcohol concentration detected among offenders.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police caught 445 persons during driving checking in the city in last two days. Cases are booked against the persons who are caught.

Among those caught are 371 two wheeler riders, 26 three wheeler drivers and 48 four wheeler drivers. All the persons who have been caught have to appear before the court for legal proceedings, said Joel Davis, Joint Commissioner of Police, (Traffic).


In Malkajgiri, the traffic police during the weekend drive caught 318 persons and booked cases against them. Among those caught are 271 two wheeler riders, 10 – three wheeler drivers, and 37 four wheeler drivers. The BAC level of 5 persons was above 301mg/100 ml.

The Cyberabad police caught 283 persons during the checking and registered cases against them for drunk driving. Of the total 283, the police found that 28 persons had BAC level above 301 mg/100 ml.
