Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police have introduced 50 traffic patrolling bikes and deployed 100 traffic marshals to strengthen traffic management in the city.
The marshals will work under the supervision of the respective police station’s Inspector and Sub-Inspector. “The goal is to increase the current strength of 100 marshals to 500. These measures will help raise the average vehicle speed in the city from 18 kmph to 23 kmph,” said Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand.
Each patrolling bike is equipped with advanced tools, including a public address system with a collar microphone, a UHF handheld set with an external microphone, and an LED baton for traffic control.
Other features include a dashboard camera for recording violations and issuing challans, GPS tracking for real-time monitoring, a first-aid kit, a wheel clamp carrier for no-parking enforcement, a traffic equipment box (reflective jacket, rain gear, etc.), a tablet device, and a body-worn camera for evidence collection.
