Hyderabad Traffic police facilitate transport of live organs

A medical team started with a heart and lungs from RGIA in an ambulance at 2.09 pm and reached KIMS Hospital at 2.35 pm, covering 36.8 km in 26 minutes.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police facilitated the transport of live human organs from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to KIMS Hospital in Begumpet on Saturday. A medical team started with a heart and lungs from RGIA in an ambulance at 2.09 pm and reached KIMS Hospital at 2.35 pm, covering 36.8 km in 26 minutes. So far in 2021, the Traffic Police facilitated organ transport on 15 instances and helped in saving precious lives, Anil Kumar, Additional Commissioner (Traffic) Hyderabad said.
