Hyderabad: In view of the Jummat-ul-Vida (last Friday of Ramzan) prayers on March 20, the Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced traffic restrictions around the historic Mecca Masjid and Charminar areas.

According to the Hyderabad Traffic Police, key roads leading to Charminar, including routes towards Madina, Murgi Chowk and Shalibanda, will remain closed to all vehicular movement from 8 am to 4 pm.

Traffic from Nayapul will be diverted at Madina Junction towards City College, while vehicles from Shalibanda and Nagulchinta will be rerouted at Himmatpura towards Hari Bowli.

Similar diversions will be enforced at Chowk Maidan, Moti Galli, Etebar Chowk and other key junctions to ease congestion in the Old City.

Officials said designated parking areas are available, including Gulzar Function Hall, Mufeed-ul-Anam Grounds, Charminar Bus Terminal, AU Hospital premises and Khilwat Ground for devotees attending prayers.

TGSRTC buses heading towards Charminar will terminate at Afzalgunj, and those travelling towards district routes will be diverted via Chaderghat, Saidabad and Aramghar.

Meanwhile, in Secunderabad, Subhash Road will remain closed between 9 am and 1 pm, with traffic diverted towards Ranigunj and Paradise.

Police have urged commuters to use the helpline 9010203626 for assistance.
