Hyderabad: Trees razed across 20 acres at Rajendranagar, students protest against deforestation
Massive protests erupted at the Agriculture University in Rajendranagar after officials uprooted trees spread across 20 acres overnight under police cover. Students accused the government of harming the ecosystem and demanded an immediate halt to the clearance drive.

HYDERABAD: Protest erupted at the Agriculture University at Rajendranagar after authorities uprooted a huge number of trees using JCBs on Saturday night.
According to reports, the trees on 20 acres of land were removed overnight by officials of different government agencies under police protection.
Around midnight, the gates of the hostels were locked, and police were posted outside to prevent the students from coming outside and hindering the work.
The students argued that the State government is determined to damage the ecosystem and demanded an immediate halt to the works.
