Hyderabad: Even as drunk driving claimed four lives in the city in barely 12 hours on Monday, two more were injured when the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a car ahead of them at the Puppalguda toll gate in Narsingi on Sunday night. The bike riders were allegedly drunk.
The injured persons are Shiva (23) and his friend Revanth (22), both from Kollur. They were returning from a liquor party and were allegedly drunk. Police said the incident occurred when the duo was proceeding on the bike being driven by Shiva from Gachibowli towards Narsingi around 10.30 pm. When they reached near Ratnadeep supermarket, opposite to Puppalguda tollgate, Shiva who was driving quite fast crashed the bike into the moving car ahead.
Both suffered serious injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. Their condition is said to be stable. The Narsingi police booked a case against Shiva for rash and negligent driving causing injuries.
