Hyderabad: Two restaurants at Rajendranagar caught for food safety violations

At The Fort, food safety inspection teams discovered a severe cockroach infestation, extremely unhygienic refrigerator conditions, and large quantities of stored boiled vegetables without proper labeling.

Hyderabad: Multiple violations under Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, were detected at two noted restaurants The Fort and Delish by Homes Kitchen, both at Rajendranagar, by the inspecting teams of Commissioner of Food Safety, Hyderabad.

At The Fort, the food safety inspecting teams reported severe cockroach infestation in the premises, very unhygienic condition of refrigerators and identified stored boiled vegetables in large quantities without any labels.

The exhaust fans were found to be greasy and dripping oil, utensils were not cleaned properly and the kitchen floor was found to be wet and with improper drainage. The mandatory pest control records were not available and food waste was not being removed on a regular basis.

At Delish, during inspections, the food safety inspecting teams detected several unlabelled raw materials left in the kitchen, food waste was not removed at regular intervals, exhaust fans were found to be greasy and dripping oil and medical fitness certificates of food handlers and pest control records were not available.
