Hyderabad: Tension prevailed in Chandrayangutta after two bodies were found inside an auto-rickshaw parked under a bridge, triggering panic among local residents on Wednesday morning.

Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and conducted an initial inspection.

The dead persons were identified as Jahangir (24) and Irfan (25), both residents of the same locality.

According to the police, no external injuries were found on the bodies, raising suspicion about the cause of death.

During preliminary investigation, officials suspect that the duo may have died due to a possible overdose of steroids or narcotic substances. During inspection of the spot, police recovered three syringes from the auto-rickshaw, increasing suspicion that the youths may have consumed drugs.

Police said a third person who was reportedly with the two youths was still missing. Efforts are on to identify and trace him to get a clearer picture. He is believed to be a key link in the case.

It is learnt that both youths were recently using certain bodybuilding substances, which has now become a key part of the inquiry.

The bodies have been shifted to the Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.

Officials said the exact cause of death will be known after the medical report. They are examining CCTV footage from nearby buildings and road junctions to track the movements of the youths before they reached the spot and died.

A case of suspicious death has been registered and further investigation is underway.
