Hyderabad: A youth, who was aggrieved after his mobile phone was stolen on a train and started stealing valuables from rail passengers, was caught by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at the Kacheguda railway station on Friday.
Stolen gadgets worth Rs 80,000 were recovered from his possession. According to police, DK Naveen Kumar (24), an employee of a pharma company from Isnapur in Patancheru, was upset after his mobile phone was stolen while travelling on a train in December 2024.
Angered over this, Naveen, who decided to steal valuables from other passengers, stole a laptop and other gadgets from a passenger on a train last month.
Based on a complaint, the GRP and RPF formed a special team and nabbed Naveen when he tried to board a train to escape to Bengaluru and recovered the stolen material.
