Hyderabad: A visually impaired elderly couple stayed with the body of their son, who died four days at their house in Nagole. The incident came to light on Monday after the neighbours alerted the police after a foul smell started emanating from the house.

According to the police, the couple — K Ramana (60) and K Shanta Kumari (55) — stayed at Blinds Colony of Nagole. The younger son of the couple, K Pramod (30), died four days ago and the couple did not know about it. They continued to stay with the body in the house. During the period, they did not eat anything.

The police, who reached the spot, shifted the body for postmortem examination to hospital. A case was registered. The couple was handed over to another family member to be taken care of.
