Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police along with the Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) felicitated students from various schools who had participated in the ‘We Cop’ programme launched by the HCSC.
Around 45 children, who were recognised as the best ‘We Cop’, were felicitated by City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar at a function at Tank Bund on Sunday on the occasion of Children’s Day. The school teachers and management of the schools expressed happiness over the awareness sessions being conducted.
The Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) in association with Hyderabad City Police has launched the We Cop programme on July 14. The programme is a part of traffic forum intended to promote traffic awareness among citizens and the objective is to create traffic awareness among children and ask them to act as small cops (traffic police), and make their family members to follow traffic rules.
The programme covered 45 schools through virtual sessions and has reached out to around 10,000 students.
“The sessions were very engaging and children expressing their interests about career and questioning the ways to reach there. Many students gave innovative ideas about making Hyderabad the best city in the country. The program is ongoing and will be gradually spread to all the schools of Hyderabad,” Anjani Kumar said.
