Hyderabad: The Task Force (East) team along with the local police busted an interstate drug peddling racket and nabbed a drug peddler in Chilkalguda. Officials seized 50 grams of Amphetamine drug worth Rs 7.6 lakh from him.
The suspect, Rajikul Hoque (21) from Malda in West Bengal earlier worked as a mason in Hyderabad and returned to his native place and started working there.
Police said Rajikul took to drug peddling as his income was not sufficient for his family expenses. He came into contact with one Mojibur Mistri, a drug dealer from the same district, who convinced Rajikul that drug peddling was highly profitable.
In an attempt to overcome his financial crisis, Rajikul purchased 50 grams of Amphetamine and travelled to Hyderabad with a plan to sell it to consumers.
Following a tip-off, he was caught by the police when waiting for prospective consumers near Line Bazar Masjid in Chilkalguda and the contraband was seized from him.
