Hyderabad: Woman alleges being kidnapped, gang-raped; case booked

Hyderabad: A woman approached the Ramgopalpet police alleging she was kidnapped and gang-raped by unidentified persons.
The 35-year-old woman from Abid Road in her complaint to the police on Sunday said that first an unidentified person took her on his motorcycle. They were later followed by a few other men. They took her to an undisclosed location, where they raped her, she said. The Ramgopalpet police have booked a case and are verifying the facts. The victim was sent for a medical examination and to the Bharosa Centre.
Sources said the woman reportedly was in an inebriated condition when she reached the police station to lodge the complaint. The police are examining CCTV footage from the spot and investigating from different angles.
