Hyderabad: Woman burgles friend’s house, arrested; valuables worth Rs 8 lakh recovered

Hyderabad: The Warasiguda police arrested a woman who burgled her friend’s house and recovered gold and silver ornaments and cash, altogether worth Rs 8 lakh at Chilkalguda ‘X’ road on Friday.
The arrested person G Vijaya (45), a real estate agent from Macha Bolarum, targeted the houses of her friends and relatives, particularly during the night when the residents were absent. She was earlier involved in similar cases in Neredmet and Alwal.
Police said Vijaya used to go to the targeted house and using hand tools open the main door lock and almirah locks and steal valuables. To avoid being identified, she used to cover her face with a mask.
Recently, she burgled the house of her close friend and decamped with valuables.
Based on a complaint, a case was booked. She was identified and traced with the help of CCTV footage and nabbed.
