Hyderabad: Cyber fraudsters cheated a woman from Moosarambagh to the tune of Rs 3.6 lakh promising high returns for investments.
According to the police, the victim received a link on her mobile about a website offering investments with high returns. When she clicked on the link and contacted the given number, the unidentified caller lured her into investing.
“She first invested Rs 10,000 and received high returns. They called her and pressurised to invest more to receive higher returns. She did and ended up losing Rs 3.6 lakh,” police said. Based on a complaint with the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police Station, a case was booked and is being investigated.
