Hyderabad: Woman dies after quarrel over food in Katedan

A 19-year-old woman, Shikhaanjali Kumari, died in Kattedan after her husband allegedly pushed her during a quarrel over food. She sustained a fatal head injury and was declared dead at Osmania General Hospital.

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old woman died after her husband allegedly pushed her in anger during a dispute over food at their house in Katedan on Monday.

According to police, Shikshanjali Kumari and Chandan Kumar got married on April 30 this year and were living in Sri Ram Nagar Colony in Katedan. The couple worked as daily wage labourers and reportedly faced financial difficulties, which often led to quarrels between them.

On Sunday night, Shikshanjali served food to her husband. Chandan Kumar allegedly became angry after finding the taste of the curry unsatisfactory and suddenly pushed her. She fell and hit her head against a wall, suffering a fatal injury.

Chandan Kumar reportedly rushed her to Osmania General Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

On Monday, the victim’s mother approached the Mailardevpally police and lodged a complaint. Following which, a case was booked and is being investigated.
