Hyderabad: Woman dies as container truck hits scooter in Medchal

A woman died on the spot when a container truck hit the scooter she was riding with her husband Ambati Srinu at Medchal on Monday. Srinu is undergoing treatment in hospital. Police are trying to identify the truck and driver.

Hyderabad: A woman died when a container truck hit the two-wheeler on which she was riding at Medchal on Monday afternoon.

According to the police, a couple, Ambati Srinu (38) and his wife Ambati Kalavathi, were travelling on a scooter from Medchal towards Athvelly area. On reaching Raghavendra Wines on the route, an unidentified container truck hit the scooter from behind. “Kalavathi and Srinu fell on the road. The couple suffered serious injuries. The woman died on the spot, while her husband Srinu was shifted to hospital where he is undergoing treatment,” said Medchal police.


A case has been registered and efforts are underway to identify the container truck and the driver.
