Hyderabad: Woman ends life after husband dies of Covid

Hyderabad: A woman, whose husband succumbed to Covid-19 in a city hospital a few days ago, died allegedly by suicide at their house in Chintal of Jeedimetla here on Monday.
According to police, the woman, Kanakadurga (45), was depressed ever since her husband Adinarayana tested positive for Covid-19. He was first in home quarantine and she was taking care of him. However, his condition worsened and he succumbed to the virus at hospital a few days ago.
“On Monday morning, relatives found her hanging from a saree tied to the ceiling fan in their bedroom,” police said, adding that no suicide note was found.
Based on a complaint, Jeedimetla police booked a case and have taken up investigation. The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue and handed over to the family after autopsy.
