Hyderabad: Woman strangled to death by husband in Medchal
A 25-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her husband in Medchal on the outskirts of Hyderabad. After the murder, the husband fled. Neighbours alerted the police after hearing the couple's child crying continuously
Hyderabad: A woman was allegedly strangled to death by her husband at their house in KLR Venture in Medchal, on the city outskirts, on Friday.
The victim, identified as Prashanthi (25), was married to Ram Babu, a private employee, about two years ago. The couple has a five-month-old girl child.
Police said Ram Babu would often pick fights with Prashanthi over trivial matters. More recently, the couple had frequently argued about their financial and family issues.
It is suspected that after one such argument, Ram Babu either strangled or smothered Prashanthi to death when she was fast asleep in the early hours. He fled from the spot after the killing.
The neighbours, who heard the child crying continuously since morning, grew suspicious and checked. They found Prashanthi lying dead on the bed. They immediately informed Prashanthi’s relatives and the police, who reached the spot.
The Medchal police are investigating.
