Hyderabad: Woman techie dies after being run over by bus

Police said Gopi Priya was riding her scooter from Miyapur to her home when the accident took place. As she approached the UPHC in Madinaguda, an unidentified vehicle hit her scooter, causing her to lose balance and fall onto the road.

Hyderabad: A woman software employee riding a two-wheeler died after she was allegedly run over by a TGSRTC bus at Madinaguda in Miyapur on Thursday late night.

The victim was identified as Gopi Priya (29), from Ashok Nagar in RC Puram was working in a software firm in Hitec City.

According to the police, Gopi Priya was proceeding on her scooter from Miyapur to her house when the mishap occurred. On reaching near the UPHC in Madinaguda, an unidentified vehicle collided with her scooter and she lost her balance and fell on the road.

“She fell on the main road and was run over by the bus coming from behind. As a result, she suffered grievous bleeding injuries and was shifted to a nearby private hospital, where she died later while undergoing treatment,” a police official said.

Based on the complaint from her family members, the Miyapur police booked a case and were investigating.
