Hyderabad: Worker dies after falling into machine at GHMC dumpyard in Yousufguda

A sanitation worker died after falling into a machine at the GHMC dumpyard in Yousufguda on Saturday, triggering protests by co-workers alleging safety lapses. Police and senior GHMC officials reached the spot and held talks with the agitating workers.

Hyderabad: In what appears to be a case of neglect in work conditions, a worker died after falling in a machine at GHMC dumpyard at Yousufguda on Saturday morning.

The loss of life triggered an immediate protest from co-workers. According to the reports, the man Sudhakar was working at the dump yard when he accidentally fell in a machine and died on the spot.


The workers who noticed it shut down the machine and pulled out the body. The workers squatted in front of the dumpyard and sat on a protest.

The police and senior officials of the GHMC and the company which manages the dumpyard reached the spot and are holding discussion with the workers.
