Hyderabad: A workshop on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to spread awareness on the life saving technique that can be employed during health emergencies was organised by SLG Hospitals, Nizampet here on Friday.
The workshop, which was attended by more than 250 individuals aged between 30 years and 55 years, was organised in the wake of the growing instances of sudden cardiac deaths among healthy individuals, a press release said.
CMD, SLG Hospitals, Dandu Siva Rama Raju said people must have working knowledge of CPR and basic first aid, which can often mean the difference between the life and death of a victim. “I believe every able-bodied adult Indian must know how to perform a CPR and basic first aid on those in distress,” he said.
Executive Director (ED), SLG Hospitals, DVS Soma Raju said that every year thousands of sudden deaths could be prevented if the victims are given CPR or first aid, when it is needed.
