Hyderabad: Yellow Ribbon Run on March 2 to raise awareness on Endometriosis

Endometriosis is as prevalent as diabetes and asthma among women, yet it remains one of the most misunderstood, misdiagnosed, underfunded, and under-researched health conditions. It significantly impacts women's lives mentally, personally, and professionally, said Dr. Vimee Bindra, founder of the Endometriosis Foundation of India, on Monday.

Hyderabad: City-based Endometriosis Foundation of India is conducting the second edition of Yellow Ribbon Run at Jalavihar Necklace Road on Sunday, March 2. The Foundation members on Monday said that the run is aimed at educating women about Endometriosis.

Endometriosis is as common as diabetes and asthma which affects women. It’s the most misunderstood, misdiagnosed, unknown, under-funded and under researched health condition which severely affects women’s lives mentally, personally and professionally, founder, Endometriosis Foundation of India, Dr. Vimee Bindra, on Monday said.

The special run for women on Sunday will see a participation of over 2000 people from all walks of life. The Endometriosis run will have running categories including 10K, 5K and 3 K.

“The current state of endometriosis care in India is insufficient to address the magnitude of the issue. The objective of the Yellow Ribbon Run is to create public awareness and urge policy makers to invest in research and development, and ensure partnerships with stakeholders to address Endometriosis,” Dr Vimee Bindra said.
