Hyderabad: Youngster duped of over Rs 3 lakh in online fraud
Police said, the caller informing the complainant that his debit card and other bank account details need to be updated in the bank records, asked for credentials including the OTP
Hyderabad: Fraudsters posing as bank executives cheated a youngster of over Rs 3 lakh in the guise of updating his debit card.
The victim, a private employee from Bhoiguda, recently received a call from an unidentified person who introduced himself as an executive from the bank in which the victim has an account. Police said, the caller informing the complainant that his debit card and other bank account details need to be updated in the bank records, asked for credentials including the OTP.
“Within few minutes of sharing the account credentials, money was withdrawn from his account in installments,” police said.
Based on a complaint, the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police took up investigation.
