Hyderabad: Within a month of the seven Zonal Cyber Cells (ZCC) coming into force in Hyderabad, they have facilitated the refund of a total of Rs 79.6 lakh to cybercrime victims in 429 cases.

To ensure quicker financial relief for cybercrime victims, the ZCCs were inaugurated in May, with one cyber cell set up in each zone of the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate.

The West Zone Cyber Cell arrested six suspects in four cybercrime cases, while the South East Cyber Cell solved two cases and the East Zone Cyber Cell solved one case. These included investment frauds, harassment by a colleague, loan fraud, and job fraud.

During the current year, a total of 9,947 petitions have been received so far through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Of these, 6,698 petitions have been disposed of, and 468 FIRs have been registered.
